Our Sustainability Promise
At Stoke Place, we recognise the influence and impact that our business has on the environment and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to sustainability and to minimising our carbon footprint, while enhancing the wellbeing of our guests, employees and local communities. We are supported in this journey by our sustainability accreditation partner, Green Tourism.
Supporting Our Community
We proudly support our local community and key workers. Blue Light Card holders receive 25% off from Monday to Thursday, while Segro card holders at Slough Trading Estate enjoy 20% off for business stays. We regularly donate Afternoon Tea vouchers to assist with local school fundraisers.
Set within 24 acres of beautifully maintained Capability Brown gardens, our grounds are open to the public, featuring a private lake and supporting a diverse range of wildlife and ecosystems. Sustainability and community engagement are at the heart of everything we do.
Environmental Initiatives
We’re committed to energy efficiency and water conservation. We exclusively source LED lighting from a single supplier, ensuring consistency in sustainability. Outdoor lighting operates on timers to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Our heating and cooling systems are regulated by multiple thermostats, with our maintenance team monitoring hot water and heating daily to optimise efficiency.
We have invested in an eco-friendly boiler, further minimising our environmental impact. To reduce water waste, we use low-flow showerheads and are progressively installing dual-flush toilets where possible. Our taps are regularly checked to prevent leaks, and all guest rooms are equipped with showers instead of baths to encourage responsible water use.
Our Team
We are committed to fostering a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace for all team members. Our staff actively contribute to minimising our environmental impact through regular sustainability training and the guidance of an on-site Sustainability Champion.
We closely monitor business and staff travel, promoting public transport and car-sharing to reduce emissions. As part of our sustainability efforts, we have integrated EV vehicles into our operations. Additionally, we track energy and activity targets, reporting progress monthly to our head office to ensure continuous improvement in our environmental initiatives.
Guest Support
At Stoke Place Hotel, we are dedicated to supporting sustainability and our local community. Our reception team provides guests with a list of nearby EV charging stations, ensuring convenient access for those driving electric vehicles. Additionally, we are developing exclusive packages and offers that showcase and support local businesses, such as Copas Farm and the Windsor & Eton Brewery Tour. These initiatives allow our guests to enjoy authentic local experiences while contributing to the regional economy.
